Outline of the Compact Course

You can enroll in the whole Compact Course, which consists of three modules, or just in Module 1.

Please mail us for more information about costs and other details by clicking the top right of this page.
You can also use the form on our Homepage.

After you've enrolled for the Compact Course, our weekly live support will help out with problems, questions et cetera.

The detailed Guide/Logs will lead you through the corresponding modules, keeping you on the right track and helping you to keep track of your progress.

You'll get all the necessary files on DVD (or CD-rom if you prefer) send to you. Or, if you prefer, you can download everything instead.

The DVD contains all you need for the course: the Guide/logs, the E-book, three demomovies, example files, and several exercises to help you learn skills like condensing, which is central to good subtitling.

Also on the DVD: all necessary software and a typewriting programme.

Module 3 includes mindmaps, covering the different modules of the Compact Course, enabling you to scan the subtitling rules before practising.

At the end of the course you'll get feedback on 25 subtitles and your filled-in guide/log, as well as evaluation and a certificate. Also we'll keep your name on file, as a reference.

Of course, you'll become a member of the Google Compact Course Group. In this closed group you'll be able to discuss subtitling problems with other students and give each other feedback without any costs, as well as receiving useful information.

Your Guide/Log also functions as a week-log, in which you're encouraged to make your own notes, keeping track of your progress.

On average, the Course takes about three months to complete, but you can do it more quickly or slowly if you want to.

Should you not complete the Compact Course, you will have all the necessary material to do so at a later stage, but feedback, evaluation and certificate are restricted to a four-month-period.

If you have any questions or problems,
don't hesitate to contact us through e-mail, Skype or otherwise.

You can mail us by clicking the top right of this page. You can also use the form on our Homepage.
