Dutch Fado - Hollandse fado, Atlas 2000

The Iron Present - Het ijzeren heden, Atlas 1998

Subtitling, or Audio-visual Translation, of growing importance worldwide:

Subtitling is growing ever more important worldwide, not only because the market for subtitling for DVD is constantly growing, but more and more people are in need of audio-visual translations because they're hearing-impaired or illiterate. Also subtitling for the internet is becoming more and more important.

With the Compact Course you can learn it in any language combination, although we advise the combination EN-Any Language because most audio-visual productions are produced in the English-speaking world.

My novels

In short:

Dutch Fado -Hollandse fado is about a 46 year old man, living in 1957, a time of great and revolutionary changes. He is estranged from his own feelings. Trapped at home in his marriage and his responsibilities, and choking in the office where he works and where passion lurks, he is learning from his retarded son how to get in contact with himself, his deeper feelings and instincts.

The Iron Present is about a young man telling a very optimistic, euphoric story about his life. Gradually the reader discovers another, tragic story behind it.

Why did I write them? One never knows. I only know that the time spend working on these novels was a time of fullfillment.
